Day 9: 11.8.22 I am
Dont give up on I am
1. Five days of rain
As I sit here and write this journal entry, its 9pm. And I hear a sweet sound of rain pouring down my room. How wonderful! In fact the day since I arrived here, I only asked for five days of rain to bless my new forest. The rain has done me favor by coming for 4 more extra days beyond my ask. So it cant get better than that. That means I now ask rain to keep coming until my new forest is syncing with the earth and new life emerging from beneath with growth and life and love. And beauty. And simplicity. And green.
2. Meeting Jayleen
I was at my desk when I received an email from Jayleen. She sent an inspirational quote wishing us a happy day today. I replied to her and thanked her and mentioned I was looking forward to meeting her in person. She was based at the Admin building across the road. As I walked up my usual track from lunch break, I saw a group of people walking towards the admin building from the car park. So I waved joyously from a far at them. I was up to meeting and connecting with as many people as I could. I was out for every opportunity to have a chat and learn about the life of this community. They waved back at me. At that point, I hurried up the steps and greeted them. Jayleen was vibrant, open, free and funny. She warmly welcomed me into the building. We went in and I was briefly introduced to the CEO who was busy in the middle of her work. We proceeded to her office at the posterior left of the building. She showed me her paintings, he writing, her stories, photos of her family, her work, footy team. She was free as bird. So much life, so much positive energy, so much love. I connected with her like a sibling. She admired my PNG bilum I wore. So I promised to bring her one. She promised to do me a painting. We talked more. I was moved by all she had to say about the stories and history of her people. I felt my soul elevate into a sacred place. I had goose bumps.
3. Four little children
I cam out of the office and was immediately greeted by four small girls playing at the door. They were happy beautiful children. They asked about my hair, my phone. They all touched my hair for a long time and followed me down the track. I asked them their names. They were cheeky and fun. I took a selfie with them. They asked me for my phone. They wanted it. They told me to go and buy a new one so they could have mine. I told them that I was sorry I could not do that. I had children like them far away that I needed my phone to talk with them. They kept following me until I said goodbye and they left me.
4. I am
I was listening to Joel Osteen this morning when he spoke about not forgetting I am. This message hit home because he was encouraging people to not forget the life within us as humans when difficult circumstances come our way. To continue affirming ourselves of the purpose why we are here. To manifest the life within which is greater than just experiences. I loved the simplicity of this.
4. Photo gallery of day 9
I took some photos today but they are with people and I dont have their permission to share them. But this moonlight will remind me of my gourmet dinner last night.
