Day 8: 10.8.22 Believe what's not seen

 Believe in what's not seen

1. Gourmet Dinner

This afternoon I was invited by Mary-Anne for dinner at her place. Remember, I wrote about her in my previous journal..There was a knock at my front door as I was getting on my bed to just wind down and read a bit. It was Mary-Anne here to collect me. I told her I wasnt ready. In her kind gesture she told me let her know when I was ready and she would collect me. I felt bad to be doing this. She left. I got ready and walked to her place in the next half an hour. The food was restaurant quality. She prepared a spread before hand. Halumi with lemon, cheese, all the freshness of colored vegetables sliced in attractive shapes and sizes, too good to be eaten up. She mixed lime cordial. Then came the dinner! It was whaoo. Beef stew, colored vegetables, cheese. She made her own yogurt. Toasted flat bread. A rich, flavorsome TAGO dinner! It was gourmet. Afterwards, she served hard rock chocos with tea. I felt like a queen. What else couldnt she do I thought. As much as she was an A Class nurse, she was A Class human being, now she was A class home cook. I want to be her best friend. To draw on all these goodness. She dropped me at my door after feeding me big and happy meal. Thank you!

2. Believing without seeing

I took 2 selfies of myself today. One with my new uniform and the other walking out the door on my way to work. The first selfie showed me the real me. She was empowered, free, unlimited, creative, genius, divine. She was full of grace and favor. She was dressed in love and youth. She was kind and considerate. She was humble and quietly confident. She was vigilant and cheerful. She was a substance woman. She saw possibilities. She walked her talk. She was brave and strong and fearless. She was on a mission. With fire and power of goodness.

The second selfie was a intelligent, youthful, fearless, confident, selfless young lady on a mission. The true her I thought. Yes what I heard yesterday about the true self from Joel Osteen. True.

This morning I heard from Joel Osteen on the topic of believing without seeing. I remembered the story of one of the greatest prophets who ever lived in the days of the Israelites. Prophet Elijah was doing his work in the land. And this particular, time, the land had not received rain for 7 years. Elijah on this certain day opened his mouth and said, 'I could hear rain coming'. And he sent his helpers to go out an bring him evidence of a sign of rain coming. Sure enough, the heavens opened up and rain poured down double fold.

I chose to believe what I hold is true and good. And not to buy into what I see that is limiting.
