Day 7: 9.8.22 Gumtree, rainbow and sunset
1. Marry-Anne
Today was the best day since I came here because I met this amazing, all rounder, A Class Nurse! Mary-Anne came in this morning and we met briefly then. She is too good to be true. She has worked all over Australia with ACCOs in doing nursing, health promotion, IEC* and community empowerment. She is so rich with information and knowledge. But she is so approachable and full of life and love. We connected instantly on many levels. Soon after I returned from my lunch break, we began our discussion on work. Before we knew it, it was 5 hours of talking, sharing, laughing and inspiring. Amazing day! I met a friend!
2. The sunset and the rainbow
Mary-Anne dropped me and my neighbor Walter home because it was showering. I dropped off my phone, got into my gardening gear and headed off on my stroll with my jacket and umbrella. This time I headed West, towards the Caravan Park past the Square. Today on a brief tour with Walter I had some Gumtree shoots along the roadside. I was after them for my own. I walked for over 2kms west on the gravel road. The shoots I saw earlier were ingrown from old stumps and therefore could not be uprooted. I was devastated. To make it up I collected more pig face and a thin colorful flowered wild scrub I encountered since the beginning of my adventures. My bag was already full. I started my return home journey. Suddenly I looked up to the east sky infront of me and the west sky behind me. I the east was a perfect rainbow, tall and free that stood facing me as if to say 'lady its not the end of the world'. And to the west I was greeted by the setting sun so gloriously divine with all of its bold, yet serene colors as if to say 'feel the love'. Tears rolled down freely in awe. I felt like the earth and the sun were in a glorious orbit. It was grand. This whole universe, nature and cosmology was incomprehensible to me. Just wonder. A perfect scene. I wished I had taken my phone to capture this display. My frustration over not being able to take home a gumtree were overcome by these two divine signs. The showers had stopped for me until I reached home and planted all my picks and then it poured to bless my handiwork. Nature has been teaching me that all things are synced. Really.
4. Your true self
This morning I listened to Joel Osteen preaching on the topic of Your true self. The essence of the message was that our day to day circumstances are not our true self. There is a greater intelligence within us that loves us and loves everything regardless of situations. I was empowered by this.
3. Never too many pumpkins
Pumpkin is my favorite food among all things eatable. So I cooked one quarter of my QLD Jap I brought from Adelaide. And had that with my vegetable soup preserved from over the weekend.
