Day 3: Right Attitude

I want to, need to, have to be consistent

1. Routine mood

Friday the 5.8.22, my third day (2nd day really excluding day one of traveling) in my new home, new space, new country. I was up again at 5am. A routine has already been set. First, before everything and anything else, must have coffee. Not in an ordinary mug. But in my ultimately selected mug, you could call it a mini bucket. Not instant coffee, but crushed and brewed. And it has to be either Victorian or Bomai PNG Coffee. Lately I added a third brand, recommended by my sweet friend Liz which is Lazzio, I am keeping it when I run dry. Not with milk but coffee mate. Then one hour dedicated to listening to either one of Joel Osteen, or Bill Winston and meditation. The next is make the bed, turn off bedside lights and turn on room light. Open all window curtains. Drink my vitamin and other tablets. Half an hour to 45 minutes of exercise. My treadmill is unfolded yet as I dont seem to work out how to. I will seek help with this during the week.

I have written out on a stick on pad all the daily activities and time allocation for each of them. I have included breakfast, but usually coffee is all I need until about lunch time. I also plan to do exercises twice a day, one before starting the day and the other to finish the day. One of my goals also is to lose excess weight and bring my body down to 65kgs. Good luck to me! I try to do a bit of abdo stretching on my yoga mat but not so good with bad knees at the moment yet. Reflecting journal entries will be before bed I guess. Talking with my children (adults) not included because I must make time for it anytime.

2. Indoor stuff

On day 3, 5.8.22, I decided to stay indoors and tidy up bits and pieces here and there. I also called Apple Support and sorted out a few technological issues. Tidied up my study, sorted my stationery, prepared my tools for work, planned my thesis writing schedule, checked emails, social media messages. Updated linkedIn profile, skimmed through a publication we did with colleagues on interactive technology and spoke with a few friends and one of my children. The TV doesnt work for me at this stage because I the HDMI cord doesnt seem to fit into the port. I need help with this also. Not that I am a huge TV fan, but it will be a good companion to have. All of these occupied half the day to lunch.

In the reminder of the afternoon I read one chapter of Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance. It is quite old as it was published in 2015. However, it gives me the background foundation work of this visionary who ever lived. I know many people are skeptical of him and all he does. I am inspired by the unlimited human potential on display.

3. Consistency

Today reminded me of a message series that Pastor Graham Agnew of the Brighton COC has been taking us through the last couple of Sundays. Often times, I seem to be not consistent with alot of things in my life. I tend to start a project with so much energy and enthusiasm. The when distractions get the way, I seem to go into a long impasse. I have realised that the longer the impasse, the harder it is to get back on track.

Graham's messages really hit home for me in this case. I want to, need to and have to be consistent with everything I do. Whether it be small or dig. Relationships, personal growth, reading, writing, skill learning, organising, etc.

4. Right attitude

This morning I listened to Joel Osteen on having the right attitude. The story of the old Testament we often take it for granted has something to do with this theme of right attitude. David was only a sheep boy, the last born of all the boys, the fragile, the least favored. When he was however given the opportunity to fight for the victory of his people, he completely dressed himself with the right attitude. And the weapons he chose which include the sling and the pepples were only secondary to his attitude. He saw himself victorious. He saw himself slaying Goliath and all his army and all his people that outnumbered him and his country. He saw the foe defeated. So he believed and he spoke it. And it came to pass. Being consistent with the right attitude means not to be swayed by any circumstance. But to stay true, stay positive, stay focused, stay simple, stay happy, stay in the spirit of service.
